Cover: $5-10 sliding
Mike Gebhart is a Colombian-American drummer and composer living in Queens, New York. For his solo show at Casa Del Xolo, he will share a drum set, voice and electronics. Most of the pieces will draw from his first record Co-Pilot, while some will be Afro-Colombian songs, and others will be pieces by his mom.
Mike performs with long time collaborator Terror/Cactus in Seattle and multiple other music projects in New York while also composing and teaching during the week. In performing solo music, he seeks to create a welcoming and open sound and environment for people to relax and also self-reflect on their own life experiences and influences.
Opening the evening will be a set by local ambient musician Sonora Enjambre aka Dream Diver. Sonora Enjambre defines themself as a Cumbia Terrorista using the Cumbia music and dance form as a political unifying and reflecting tool.
